The built environment industry has barely had a chance to draw breath since last week's Labour victory. Momentum is building through appointments, announcements and now a distinctly housing and planning focused speech from Chancellor Rachel Reeves. While the pace and direction is refreshing and the commitment to address the housing crisis admirable, it will also be important for Labour to ensure that speed does not come at the expense of coordination. Joining the dots and taking a holistic view will be essential to ensure that their proposals become greater than the sum of their parts.
