Vicky has recently been invited to speak at the New Towns Taskforce round table on design quality. She focused on the limits of design policy to create quality without other supporting mechanisms, covering issues such as the importance of high quality strategic spatial planning, using design codes to defend against bad design without stifling creativity or deliverability, and considering the impact of other factors on quality, such as land values, delivery model and stewardship.
